Whether it’s occasional help or specialized memory care, it’s all about ensuring the proper care while helping residents live life to the fullest.

When should I start looking into a senior living community?

When you or a loved one feels unsafe or struggles with daily tasks independently, you should begin considering moving to a senior living community. Addressing these issues early allows you to carefully research and explore the best options for you or your loved one.

What are “activities of daily living” (ADLs)?

Activities of daily living, or ADLs, are the basic tasks we all do every day to take care of ourselves. These include bathing, dressing, eating, using the bathroom and moving around. If your loved one needs help with some of these tasks, assisted living at Lighthouse Senior Living provides the support they need to stay safe and comfortable.

Yes! Lighthouse Senior Living offers flexible visiting hours so you can spend time with your loved one. For everyone’s safety, please check in with our staff before entering rooms or common areas, and please stay home if you’re feeling unwell.

How much does it cost?

Each person’s Lighthouse Senior Living care profile is customized to suit their care needs. Therefore, to estimate costs, we must meet with potential residents first to assess their level of care. Our lease term is month to month and there is no security deposit; however, we do require a community fee to be paid at the time of move-in. Contact one of our admissions specialists today to determine your care plan and its monthly cost.

How do I pay for assisted living or memory care?

Many families wonder how they can afford assisted living or memory care. Lighthouse Senior Living offers flexible options to fit your budget. Some financial assistance may be available through programs like VA Aid & Attendance for eligible veterans or Medicare for certain services. Our admissions specialists can help you explore different ways to cover the costs.

Is any assistance available for veterans or their spouses?

The Veterans Aid & Attendance Program benefits may be available for certain types of senior living. Eligible veterans and dependents who are entitled to VA pension or compensation provides funding for qualified individuals who need intermediate or skilled nursing care. In order to quality, you must be either:

  1. A veteran who served at least 90 days in active duty with at least one day served during wartime and was honorably discharged;
  2. A surviving spouse of a veteran currently receiving nursing care or aid and attendance services.

Some income restrictions also apply. Lighthouse will work with local VA representatives to help qualifying prospective residents receive Veterans Aid & Attendance and other military benefits. For complete details, go to www.benefits.va.gov.
